3 Shops Destroyed In Fire In Tarkwa
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reported the destruction of three shops at Nzema line near Kawirkwanano Junction in Tarkwa in the Western region.
The incident is said to have happened in the early hours of Saturday, July 1, 2023.
The shops which are said to belong to Dez-Ike Enterprise and their contents perished in the fire.
In a brief statement, the Fire Service said firefighters managed to rein in the fire to avoid spreading to other shops and residences.
“Several adjoining shops and houses salvaged by Firefighters as fierce fire destroys 3 commercial stores and their contents belonging to Dez-Ike Enterprise in the early hours of Saturday, July 01, 2023, at Nzema line near Kawirkwanano Junction in Tarkwa.”

Records from the GNFS indicate that 2,177 fire outbreaks were recorded nationwide in the first quarter of 2023.
This is estimated to be 9.4 per cent lower than the same period in 2022.
The records showed there were 827 fire outbreaks in January 2023, 728 in February, 622 fires In March 2023 and 506 in April 2023.
