GNFS Intensifies Public Education on Fire Safety Measures
The Manhyia Division of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) dispatched its personnel on the streets today, holding placards with images and inscriptions that urged the public to uphold fire safety measures.
The move is part of their efforts to conscientize the general public on fire safety.
It is a step further in its public education on fire safety in an effort to reduce unwanted fire incidents in the country.
According to ADO1 Alexander Osei Boamah, 2nd in Command of the Manhyia Fire Station, the core function of GNFS is to help prevent fire outbreaks. Hence, there is a need to educate citizens on fire safety measures.
The officers engaged civilians on the streets, enlightening them on fire safety measures.
“The exercise is meant to instil fire safety measures in citizens to prevent fire outbreaks and keep the public safe,“ he said.
