Barima Yeboah Asuama of Masem Show Recounts his Struggles as a Youth
A panel member of the Masem show, Barima Yeboah Asuama, has recounted how he struggled to ensure he makes it in life. He explained that his parents died when he was still very young.
Barima said that he fend for himself after Senior High School by carrying concrete in wheelbarrow.
Because of the financial difficulties, when he gained admission to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), he had to miss lectures on some days to enable him to work.
“It wasn’t easy. I used to walk from Meduma to Adum to work. Instead of going to lectures, I went to work,” he said.
According to him, no relative can ever say that he or she took care of him but he lived with grandparent when he was very young.
He emphasised that he had a goal and so he was not discouraged.
“Don’t give up. There is hope. It is only the dead that have no hope. God created us for a purpose, ” he added.
