W/R: Three Arrested Over Gun Violence In Viral Video
Three persons have been arrested by the police in the Western Region after the surfacing of a video portraying gun violence.
They were arrested through an intelligence operation on Monday, March 27.
In the said video, Godfred Appiah, one of the suspects appeared shooting at another and threatening violence.
Police investigations further traced Theophilus Yeboah and Isaac Amoako.
“Further Police investigation led to the arrest of suspects Theophilus Yeboah and Isaac Amoako, who the investigation revealed as the owner and supplier of the said weapon”, a statement from the Ghana Police Service said.
It said a search at the residence of Isaac Amoako led to the retrieval of four (4) pump action shotguns including twenty-four (24) AAA-refilled cartridges to which he could not produce documents.
All three were remanded into police custody on Wednesday 29th March 2023, after they were arraigned at the Tarkwa Circuit Court.
They will reappear in court on April 6.
Meanwhile, other accomplices are being traced by the police.
