Ablakwa “Spiritually Fortified” For Parliamentary Oversight
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has received spiritual fortification towards the delivery of his mandate as a legislator.
He revealed this in a Facebook post on Monday, March 6, 2023.
This was after he met the leadership of the country’s Apostolic Movement.
He said he was invited to brief the religious leaders on the scandals surrounding the National cathedral during a meeting.
“Earlier today I honoured an invitation from the leadership of Ghana’s Apostolic Movement to offer a comprehensive briefing on matters relating to the “National” Cathedral Scandal”, a part of the post read.
According to the legislator, the deliberations were “extensive, transparent and frank”.
At the end of the discussions, he said, he received prayers for fortification.
“I also received special prayers asking for the Lord’s fortification in the pursuit of what they described as my exemplary parliamentary oversight.”
He shared a picture in which he appeared kneeling as six men of God including Archbishop Nicolas Duncan William, Rev Lawrence Tetteh, Rev Sam Korankye Ankrah and others, layed hands on him to pray.
“I am profoundly grateful to these revered ministers of the gospel”, he added.
The MP has been on the fore front seeking accountability with regards to the construction of the scandal-stricken cathedral.
He has been making allegations of corruption and corruption related offenses against Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees, Reverend Victor Kusi-Boateng.
He has already petitioned the Commission on Human Rights Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to investigate Rev Kusi Boateng.
In January this year, two of the Board members of the National cathedral, Archbishop Duncan William and Rev Eastwood Anaba, requested suspension of the project to make way for an audit.
Meanwhile, Rev Kusi Boateng has sued for Ablakwa for defamation.
