Asiedu Nketia Dissolves Campaign Team, Urges Others To Follow Suit

The newly elected National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says he has dissolved his campaign team and has urged other aspirants in the just-ended National Congress to follow suit.

In a statement, he showed appreciation to members of his campaign team including volunteers, constituency and regional coordinators across the country for their efforts towards his victory at the 10th National Delegates Congress.

Announcing the dissolution of the campaign team through his spokesperson, he noted that the “common battle ahead is to unite and defeat the inept and clueless NPP government to build the Ghana we all want” and therefore urged his fellow aspirants to dissolve their campaign team.

“By this statement, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah announces the dissolution of his Campaign Team. He further urges all aspirants to dissolve their campaign teams because the internal elections are over.”

 

The NDC elected new national executives over the weekend under the theme “Rallying for victory 2024; Ghana’s Hope”.

The Congress took place at the Accra Sports Stadium where over 8,000 delegates voted.

The elected executives include Johnson Asiedu Nketiah (National Chairman), Awudu Sofo Azourka (1st Vice Chair), Dr Sherry Ayittey (2nd Vice Chair), Yakubu Abanga Alhassan (3rd Vice Chair), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey (General Secretary), Barbara Serwaa Asamoah (Vice Gen Secretary), Gbande Foyo Mustapha ((Vice Gen Secretary).

Also are Joseph Yammin (National Organiser), Kobby Barlon (Deputy National Organiser), Elikem Kotoko (Deputy National Organiser), Sammy Gyamfi (National Communicator), Malik Basintale (Deputy National Communications Officer), Godwin Ako Gunn (Deputy National Communications Officer).

The rest are Mamah Cole Younger (National Zongo Caucus Coordinator), Wonder Victor Kutor (NEC Member), Araba Tagoe (NEC Member), Cecilia Asaga (NEC Member), Victoria Kuma-Mintah (NEC Member), Ephraim Nii Tan Sackey (NEC Member), Hannah Louisa Bissiw ( National Women’s Organiser), and George Opare Addo (National Youth Organiser).

With the new executives, the NDC is seeking to clutch power in the 2024 General elections.
