Man Found Dead Following Heavy Rainfall In Kumasi
A young man’s body has been discovered in a river near the Ahinsan and Atonsu link road In the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region,
On Tuesday, September 27, locals found something terrible close to the Susan River, which had overflowed its banks due to the tremendous rains that had pounded sections of the Ashanti Region the previous days.
His fingers and other body parts were discovered by scrap dealers who were scouring the stream for metal pieces and other items.
They quickly raised an alarm that caught the attention of bystanders and opinion leaders in the vicinity.
Police and other emergency services were called to convey the body to the morgue.
Residents say it wasn’t the first time such an incident had been recorded around the area. It is believed that the deceased may have been carried by floodwater although the police say they are working to identify him.
There have been calls on authorities to desilt the stream to avert such incidents.
