Mfensi: Traders Left At The Mercy Of The Weather, Cry For Help
Traders at the Mfensi community in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District have their fate at the mercy of the weather as they ply their business in the open, calling on the government to come to their aid.
They told Opemsuo News Reporter, Nana Adeamuoduro on the Nkwantananso show in an interview that there is no market center in the community. For that reason, traders in the last two years have been conducting their businesses directly under the scorching sun during dry season and in the rain on rainy days.
Apart from the unavailability of a decent market center, the current place they occupy has no places of convenience. Traders are forced to urinate in the open and behind buildings which they say are unhealthy.
When Adeamuoduro visited the market, foodstuff including plantain, yam, cassava, and vegetables were spotted in the mud, there are no stalls for their commodities except a few who have managed to purchase tables for their goods.
According to them, all efforts to get authorities to construct a market center for them have proved futile.
