Charles Bissue Bows Out Of NPP Gen Secretary Race
The immediate past secretary of the Western Region, Charles Bissue, has bowed out of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) general secretary election race.
Bissue made the announcement in a statement issued on July 13, 2022.
“On July 13, 2022, I officially withdrew my aspiration for the General Secretary position of the New patriotic party”, he said, noting that he had sent a letter to the National Election Committee of the Party.
He failed, however, to relay the reason behind the decision but prayed that the party gives the delegates the chance to freely choose their leaders.
He assured of giving out his quota for the betterment of the party.
Bissue was among six persons who were vying for the position of the NPP General secretary but his withdrawal brings the contestants to five.
The position is now being contested by John Boadu, the current General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, Iddrisu Musah, Frederick Opare Ansah and Ramseyer Ahmed Agyeman-Prempeh.
The party will conduct the National Delegates Conference to elect its national leaders from July 15 to July 17, 2022.
