40 Arrested For Road Indiscipline
The Ghana Police Service has reported impounding 40 vehicles following indiscipline of some drivers along the Kpone-Dawhenya stretch of the N1 highway.
In the course of a special exercise conducted by the police in relation with Citi media group dubbed “War Against Indiscipline” the police said 40 drivers were rounded up.
The drivers are reported to have engaged in dangerous driving, driving on the shoulders of the roads and verges, abuse of sirens and beacon lights, among others.
The 40 drivers are being processed for courts in Tema and Ashaiman while the impounded vehicles are currently at the Tema Community 25 Police Station.
According to the police the exercise is meant to deter drivers whose activities contribute to congestions on major roads in Accra and Tema Metropolis.
