3 Suspects Nabbed after Burkina Faso-bound Vehicles Impounded with Illegal Substances

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has announced the arrest of three suspects for attempting to convey some illegal products to Burkina Faso.
The substances were being transported in two Rhino Kia trucks with registration numbers GS 5699-18 and GC 1871-11.
The trucks contained substances, including 58 cartons of cigarettes, 182 cartons of unapproved pharmaceutical drugs and 40 drums of sodium cyanide.
They were reportedly intercepted on February 1, 2026, at Kaleo in the Nadowli District of the Upper West Region.
Investigation revealed that they were transporting the items without documentation or approval.
“The drivers of the vehicles, together with their mates, have been handed to the Upper West Regional Police Command for further investigation and prosecution,” it communicated.
