GES Debunks Viral Report Of Student Death At Ghana National College

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has debunked a viral social media report claiming a first-year student at Ghana National College has died due to negligence on the part of her house mistresses.
In a disclaimer, GES stated categorically that no student has passed away at Ghana National College.
According to the Service, the particular demise being circulated occurred in 2018 and is being recirculated as if it happened recently.
The viral post, shared by a page identified as HighSchoolXtra, carried photos of a female student alongside the school’s crest with the headline: “First Year Student Of Ghana National College Dies Due To Negligence On The Part Of Her House Mistresses.”
GES has urged the general public to disregard the report, describing it as a disingenuous attempt by some faceless individuals to reopen the painful wounds of the bereaved family.
The Service said the recirculation of the old incident also unjustly besmirches the reputation of the teachers, house mistresses and the school.
