Ghana Woos Global Mining Investors At IMARC 2026 In Australia

The Minerals Commission of Ghana has reinforced the country’s position as Africa’s leading mining investment destination at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC 2026), underway at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, Australia.

Addressing the international audience, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer responsible for Policy Planning, Mineral Titles and Local Content, Madam Victoria Awuni, highlighted Ghana’s competitive advantages as a mining destination, including its rich mineral endowment, established mining industry, evolving regulatory framework and commitment to responsible and sustainable mining.

She emphasised the vast opportunities available across Ghana’s mining value chain — from mineral exploration and mine development to mining support services, local content participation, mineral processing and value addition.

Madam Awuni also outlined the Minerals Commission’s role in strengthening regulatory efficiency, promoting transparency in mineral rights administration and advancing responsible mineral resource governance to support long-term investment.

With Ghana firmly established as Africa’s leading gold producer, she underscored the country’s ambition to move beyond raw mineral extraction towards greater beneficiation, industrial development and increased Ghanaian participation in the mining sector.

“Ghana is not only a leading mineral-producing nation but a competitive, transparent and forward-looking destination for mining investment,” Madam Awuni told investors, reaffirming the country’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for both existing and prospective investors.

Ghana’s participation in IMARC 2026, according to the Commission, provides an important platform to present the country’s mining investment proposition, attract responsible investment and forge mutually beneficial international partnerships.

Beyond the official presentation, the conference offers the Minerals Commission an opportunity to engage directly with international mining companies, technology providers, investors and regulatory institutions on emerging industry trends, innovation and areas of cooperation.

The three-day conference, which opened on October 27 and ends on October 29, has brought together mining executives, investors, policymakers and industry stakeholders from around the world to discuss investment opportunities, innovation and sustainable resource development.
