Measure Leadership By Impact, Not Titles – BoG Deputy Governor to Women Leaders

The Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs Matilda Asante-Asiedu, has charged women leaders to redefine leadership.
According to her, the definition must transition beyond titles and measure leadership by the impact they make in their institutions, families and communities.
This was during the Executive Women Network (EWN) 10th Anniversary Conference on October 2, 2026, held under the theme “A Decade of Leadership, A Future Towards Holistic Impact.”
Mrs Asante-Asiedu urged women to continuously equip themselves for a rapidly changing world, particularly as technology, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity reshape the financial sector.
She also encouraged women to pursue financial independence through investment, business building and wealth creation, while calling on leaders and institutions to deliberately open doors and sponsor the next generation of women leaders.
She charged every woman present to identify one woman whose career, business or confidence they can advance, and within 30 days, open a door for her.
The Second Deputy Governor congratulated the Executive Women Network on 10 years of building a strong community of women leaders, expressing confidence that the future of women’s leadership will be defined not just by how many women reach the top, but by how many others they empower and bring along.
