India’s External Affairs Minister Jaishankar Expected in Ghana on Two-Day Working Visit

India’s Minister of External Affairs, H.E. Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, will arrive in Ghana on Tuesday for a two-day working visit aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
The visit, from October 6 to 7, 2026, is at the invitation of Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Ministry said Ghana looks forward to hosting Dr Jaishankar on what it described as a “historic visit” that will offer both countries an opportunity to renew their “inseparable bond of solidarity and shared values.”
Ghana and India share decades-long ties rooted in the Non-Aligned Movement and South-South cooperation.
During the visit, the two sides are expected to hold high-level discussions to advance cooperation in pharmaceutical development within the framework of President John Dramani Mahama’s Accra Reset philosophy, as well as deepen collaboration in agricultural mechanisation and value addition.
Dr Jaishankar’s visit is expected to further strengthen economic and diplomatic relations between Accra and New Delhi, with India being one of Ghana’s major trading partners and a key partner in capacity building, technology and healthcare.
