The National Service Authority (NSA) has released postings for 70,072 eligible National Service Personnel, the first batch of General Enrolment for the 2026/2027 National Service Year.
According to the Authority, the postings follow the completion of the requisite validation and registration processes for prospective personnel submitted for consideration for the 2026/2027 service year.
As part of the mobilisation and deployment process, a total of 149,907 prospective National Service Personnel were submitted through the registration process.
Of this number, 95,689 were successfully verified, while 95,197 successfully completed their registration.
Process
The Authority announced that registration for the 2026/2027 National Service Year commences on Thursday, October 1, 2026, and ends on Thursday, 15th October 2026.
All National Service Personnel are expected to report to their respective departments, institutions and agencies from Monday, 5th October 2026, to commence their national service.
Registration, however, remains open for private and international applicants, it said.
Such applicants are encouraged to complete their registration within the stipulated period to enable the Authority to process their applications.
The Authority further informed all National Service Personnel and user agencies in the Subvented Category that monthly evaluation forms will be made available on the Authority’s portal every month from 15th to 20th for the completion and submission of the required evaluations for allowance payment.
For the month of October 2026, however, the evaluation forms will be available from October 15 to 25, 2026.
Eligibility
The Authority further reminded the general public that, in accordance with Section 29(1) of the National Service Authority Act, 2024 (Act 1119), “a person is qualified to undertake national service if that person is a Ghanaian citizen and has completed a course of study at a tertiary education institution”.
It also drew attention to the repercussions for qualified personnel who fail to undertake national service. Under Section 40 of Act 1119, an employer shall not employ a person who is qualified to undertake national service but has not done so, unless the person is exempted under Section 36.
An employer who contravenes this is liable to pay to the Authority an administrative penalty of five thousand penalty units.
The Authority shall also direct a person who obtains employment without undertaking national service to do so in a field determined by the Board.
The Registrar of Companies shall also not register a company, partnership or business name of a person who is qualified but has not undertaken national service, unless exempted.
Management, therefore, encouraged all prospective personnel to comply fully with the stated procedures and timelines to facilitate their successful deployment and commencement of service.
