CSA Highlights Importance Of Software Updates

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has highlighted the importance of regular software updates as a key measure in protecting users against cyber threats.
In a public awareness notice ahead of the 2026 National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM), the Authority explained that software updates play a critical role in closing security gaps that criminals often exploit.
“Why Software Updates Matter: Updates fix security vulnerabilities that cybercriminals exploit. Enable automatic updates whenever possible,” the CSA stated.
The message was contained in a countdown flyer marking 15 days to NCSAM 2026, which is observed annually in October.
The awareness month, being promoted under the hashtag #NCSAM2026, seeks to educate the public on cyber hygiene and promote safe digital practices among individuals, businesses and public institutions.
The Authority continues to encourage Ghanaians to adopt basic security practices such as enabling automatic updates, using strong and unique passwords, activating two-factor authentication, and being vigilant against phishing and online scams.
The CSA has urged the public to follow its official channels and visit www.csa.gov.gh for updates on activities lined up for the celebration.
