Ghana Medical Trust Fund Saves 110 Children with Heart Conditions

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has saved 110 children battling serious heart conditions, giving them a second chance at life.
The children are among more than 150 patients facing huge financial barriers to lifesaving cardiac treatment who are being supported at the newly refurbished Cath lab at the National Cardiothoracic Centre.
“Who knows what these children will become?” asks Dr Ekow Entsua-Mensah, Head of the National Cardiothoracic Centre.
“They could be Ghana’s future doctors, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs and leaders.”
According to him, the impact of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund is being measured not only in money, equipment or procedures, but in lives saved, hope restored and futures reclaimed.
