Cyber Security Authority Urges Public To Delete Inactive Apps

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has urged the public to remove inactive applications from their phones as part of good cyber hygiene.

In its “Cyber Habit of the Day” advisory, the Authority warned that unused apps may still have access to personal information.

“Remove inactive apps from your phone,” the CSA advised, explaining that such apps pose a potential privacy and security risk even when not in use.

As a challenge to users, the Authority encouraged phone users to delete three apps they no longer use.

The advisory forms part of the CSA’s ongoing public awareness campaign to promote safe digital practices among Ghanaians.
