Path, InSupply Health Introduce INSPIRE Project To Strengthen Maternal Health Supply Chain

Path and InSupply Health have introduced a proposed project aimed at strengthening Ghana’s supply chain for maternal and newborn health commodities.

The proposed INSPIRE project was presented during a meeting with the Ministry of Health, where Path and InSupply Health requested the Ministry’s input on supply-chain gaps and priorities to inform project development.

The Deputy Minister for Health, Prof. Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah, welcomed the proposed project and urged Path and InSupply Health to focus on Ghana’s priority needs, particularly improving the availability of essential maternal and newborn health commodities and equipment at the primary healthcare level to help reduce maternal deaths.

According to the Ministry, the challenges include data management, forecasting, procurement, transportation and sustainable financing.

It noted that its input will help align the project with Ghana’s current supply-chain systems and priorities.
