Ghana Medical Trust Fund Donates Over GH¢4 Million Worth Of Equipment To KATH
The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has presented medical equipment and consumables valued at over GH¢4 million to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.
The donation includes a fully equipped Olympus endoscopy tower, jaundice meters, and respiratory, oxygen therapy and anaesthesia consumables.
Chief Executive Officer of KATH, Dr Paa Kwesi Baidoo, who received the items, said the support comes at a crucial time for the hospital.
He disclosed that the hospital’s existing endoscopy machine is over 10 years old and the new tower will significantly enhance diagnostic and endoscopic services.
Dr Baidoo commended the Trust Fund, noting that its impact in just one year feels like 70 years of support.
He also revealed that for the first time in the 70-year history of KATH, a cardiac intervention centre is under construction with support from the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.
“Your impact within just a year feels like you have been here forever,” he stated.
