WAEC Releases 2026 WASSCE Provisional Results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates, 2026.
In a press release, the Council said login details have been made available to heads of school to enable them to access the results of their candidates.
The results have also been hosted online, and candidates can access them at the Council’s website, waecgh.org.
WAEC has cautioned stakeholders to be wary of fraudsters who promise to upgrade results for a fee, noting that its results are secured and can be authenticated using its results verification system and QR code.
A total of 512,862 candidates, made up of 225,270 males and 287,592 females from 1,022 schools, entered for the examination. This represents an 11.07 per cent increase over the 2025 entry figure of 461,736. A total of 5,049 candidates, representing 0.98 per cent, were absent.
Following investigations, the 42nd Meeting of the Ghana Examinations Committee held on Friday, August 7, 2026, approved the cancellation of subject results of 7,434 candidates for bringing foreign materials such as prepared notes, textbooks and printed materials into the examination halls, and the cancellation of entire results of 861 candidates for possession of mobile phones in the halls.
The subject results of 957 candidates and the entire results of 270 candidates have also been withheld for various suspected offences.
In addition, subject results of candidates from 169 schools have been withheld for alleged collusion. The Council says those cases are still under investigation and the withheld results may be released or cancelled depending on the outcome by October 30, 2026.
Candidates whose results have been cancelled or withheld have been directed to visit irreg.waecgh.org and click on the withheld/cancelled button for reasons and next steps.
