Use Strong, Unique Passwords For Banking Apps – Cyber Security Authority

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has urged the public to create strong and unique passwords for banking and financial applications as part of efforts to strengthen online security.

In a public advisory to mark 25 days of the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) 2026, the Authority said users should consider using passphrases and a trusted password manager to enhance their digital safety.

The message was contained in a promotional flyer released by the CSA bearing the theme “Securing Ghana’s Digital Future” and the hashtag #NCSAM2026.

The Authority continues to sensitise Ghanaians ahead of the annual October awareness campaign, which focuses on promoting safe online practices and building resilience against cyber threats.

The CSA has consistently encouraged citizens to adopt basic cyber hygiene practices, including strong password creation, to protect sensitive financial information.

More activities are expected to be rolled out by the Authority as the countdown to NCSAM 2026 continues.
