Presidency Cautions Ministers, Political Appointees Over Discipline and Performance

The Presidency has reminded all Ministers and political appointees of President John Dramani Mahama’s firm resolve to maintain discipline, accountability and effective leadership across all sectors of Government.

In a notice issued by the Secretary to the President, Dr Callistus Mahama, the Presidency said the recent ministerial changes and the dissolution of selected boards, together with the impending reshuffle of Chief Executives, reflect the President’s determination to strengthen institutional leadership, enhance coordination and ensure that every appointee remains fully aligned with the Government’s policies and priorities.

“The President expects all Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Chief Executives, Board members and other political appointees to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, diligence, humility and respect for established administrative procedures. Conduct that undermines governmental cohesion, institutional authority or the effective implementation of Government policy will not be tolerated,” the notice stated.

The statement further reminded appointees that public office is a privilege and an opportunity to serve the Ghanaian people.

It added that performance across all sectors will continue to be assessed, and the President will take any further action necessary to safeguard the integrity, effectiveness and responsiveness of his Administration.

“All appointees are expected to cooperate and commit as we work together to deliver the Government’s mandate and improve the lives of the Ghanaian people,” it concluded.
