Unite and Honour the Name of Asante — Otumfuo to Asantes in the U.S

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has appealed to Asantes in the diaspora to forge strong unity among themselves and uphold the name of Asanteman with great esteem.

Speaking at a grand celebration of the Akwasidae Festival held in the United States of America on Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Asantehene charged the diaspora community to fully embrace their roles as cultural ambassadors for both Asanteman and Ghana.

He emphasised that Asantes abroad must actively engage in endeavours that attract development projects, honour, and international prestige to the Asante Kingdom.

“I urge you to unite, love one another, and honour the name of Asante for me,” he stated.

In addition to safeguarding their traditional identity, the Asantehene encouraged the diaspora to remain law-abiding and exemplary citizens, serving as outstanding ambassadors for Ghana in their host nation.
