IGP Decorates Promoted Police Officer for Saving Lives During Fire Outbreak

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has decorated Inspector Hance Atubra of the Tarkwa Divisional Headquarters with the rank of Chief Inspector for his bravery and exceptional efforts during a fire outbreak.
The decoration ceremony took place today, Sunday, 31st August 2026, at the National Police Headquarters in Accra.
Inspector Atubra, now Chief Inspector Atubra, was promoted in recognition of his courageous role in saving lives and protecting property during a fire outbreak at Aboso in the Western Region on 26th August 2026.
The IGP, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, commended him for his courage, quick response and dedication to duty, noting that his actions exemplify the values of professionalism and service expected of Police officers.
Mr Yohuno said the promotion was to recognise the officer’s selfless service and to motivate other personnel to emulate his example in serving the public.
