Gender Ministry Charts Strategic Priorities For 2027

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has concluded its four-day 2026 Mid-Year Performance Review and 2027 Strategic Planning and Budget Prioritisation Workshop.

The workshop provided a platform for participants to assess the Ministry’s performance, address implementation gaps and chart a strategic direction for 2027.

After the Day One assessment of the Ministry’s performance, discussions on Days Two, Three and Four focused on identifying innovative and efficient ways of working, prioritising interventions, assessing requirements and strengthening coordination and accountability.

Participants examined areas where existing processes could be simplified, digitalised or redesigned, while considering opportunities for stronger partnerships and improved coordination across Departments, Directorates and Agencies.

The workshop also prioritised proposed 2027 interventions based on their importance, expected impact, readiness for implementation and equity and inclusion considerations.

It further focused on translating the agreed priorities into clear deliverables and accountability arrangements, including expected results, targets, responsibilities, timelines and resources required for implementation.

Closing the workshop, the Minister, Hon. Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, urged participants to ensure the outcomes translated into concrete action and measurable results.

She noted that the Ministry’s work directly affects vulnerable groups and families, stressing that its success must ultimately be reflected in how people experience care, protection, inclusion and social support.

The Minister emphasised the importance of urgency in implementing the Ministry’s mandate, noting that participants have a responsibility to maintain momentum and deliver on the government’s overall reset agenda.

She called on participants to return to their respective areas with renewed commitment to implementation, accountability and collective responsibility.

The outcomes of the workshop are expected to inform the Ministry’s recovery actions for the remainder of 2026 and provide a basis for its strategic priorities, resource allocation and implementation plans for 2027.
