KNUST Alumni Association Donates to Otumfuo Foundation
The leadership of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Alumni Association has presented an undisclosed monetary donation to the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation.
The donation was presented before Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, during the sixth Awukudae Festival at the Manhyia Palace on August 12, 2026.
It is intended to support the King’s humanitarian and educational initiatives across Asanteman.
The visit was also used to pay homage and express profound gratitude to the Asantehene for accepting their invitation to their upcoming homecoming.
In a remark, representatives of the executive body recalled that following the anniversary launch, the association formally invited Otumfuo to their upcoming grand homecoming event.
It said Otumfuo also committed to hosting a Chancellor’s Ball to raise funds dedicated to boosting the KNUST Endowment Fund.
Receiving the contribution on behalf of the Asantehene, Nana Prof Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Otumfuo Hiahene, who doubles as Chairman of the Otumfuo Foundation, expressed appreciation for the alumni group’s generosity.
He assured them that the funds would be deployed directly toward advancing the foundation’s core development projects.
“On behalf of Otumfuo, I thank the group for this gesture. We will use this to advance our cause at the Foundation,” the Hiahene remarked.
Speaking to the delegation, Otumfuo commended the alumni for their dedication to their alma mater and urged them to remain steadfast in their development efforts.
“Let this be an opportunity to help the school. Unite in your cause,” Otumfuo advised the executives, instructing them to liaise closely with his office to fix an appropriate date for the homecoming event to ensure his personal attendance.
