2021 World Spelling Bee Champion Presents Trophy To President

Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin, the winner of the 2021 World Selling Bee Champion has presented the trophy to the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo last Sunday 6th March at Cape Coast, the Central Regional Capital.

The 11-year-old boy is a student of the University of Cape Coast Basic School and a native of Awutu Bontrase in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region, born to Rev. Dr. Frank Kwame Arhin and Mrs.Lydia Adjoa Arhin in Cape-Coast.

Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin has become the first African and Ghanaian to have won this prestigious World Category Award in the history of the Competition.

The father in an interview revealed that the 11-year-old qualified to represent Ghana for Intercontinental Spelling Bee Grand Finale in Dubai UAE, and at the end of the keenly contested Global Competition, Angel Kwame Ankamah Arhin emerged first African and a Ghanaian to win the 2nd Runner Up category at the World Stage.

Office of the president of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, Office of the Central Regional Minister Hon. Justina Marigold Assan, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape-Coast Prof. Nyarkoh Boampong as well as the Paramount Chief of Oguaa Traditional Area, Osaberima Kwesi Attah ll have all congratulated Angel for such an impressive performance on the world stage.

He then asked Ghanaians to encourage schoolchildren to work hard in order to achieve success, stating that these children had the country’s future in their hands.

He stated that following the triumph, Angel will attend Academic Camping in the United Kingdom (UK), therefore, requesting philanthropists and everyone to help the child, particularly in Cash, in order for Ghana and Africa to win another World Cup.

He thanked the National Organizers of Spelling Bee, Edupro Organization-Tema for helping in raising the flag of the country higher.
