20-year-old Robber Sentenced to 15 Years Imprisonment

A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment after he was found guilty of robbery within the Upper West Region.
Together with one Awal Abass- who is currently at large- he robbed two people of their motorbikes on March 6, 2025.
The bikes included a Haojue bike with registration number M-21-449 UW and a Luojia bike with registration number M-17-4607 UW.
Nawaf was arrested at his residence on March 8, 2025.
After admitting the crime during interrogation, he was put before the Wa Circuit Court.
The Court presided over by His Lordship Jonathan Avoogo subsequently sentenced him to 15 years’ imprisonment for the crimes.
“The court’s decision brings closure to the case and serves as a deterrent to others who may engage in similar activities,” a statement issued by the Police Service said on April 8.
“The Upper West Regional Police Command commends the efforts of its officers and the general public for their diligence and professionalism in handling this matter. The Command will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our communities.”
