¢50K Bounty Placed on Head of Wanted Suspect
The Ghana Police Service has placed GH¢50,000 on the head of a male suspect who in a viral video threatened to harm some officials of the country.
The amount will be given to anyone who can furnish the Service with the relevant information leading to his arrest.
“The Ghana Police Service has declared wanted a male suspect who is seen in a viral video threatening to shoot and harm some public officials.
“The suspect who addressed himself as Kanawu, threatened violence on the public officials and any other person who stands in their way,” it said in a press statement on Monday, September 9, 2024.
The suspect in the said video had the Inspector-General of Police, Dr George Akufo Dampare, the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey and the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensah on target, threatening to shoot them.
He accused the IGP and the Interior Minister of secret recruitment into the Service purposely to help manipulate the upcoming election and declared violence and bloodshed during the polls.
