Zebilla: Police Arrest One Suspect In Connection with Police Officer Killing

The police have arrested a suspect in connection with the killing of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region during a robbery incident on February 8, 2026.

The success followed the deployment a special team by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno.

The suspect identified as Simon Apusiga, aged 42, was traced and arrested on February 10, 2026, following an intelligence-led operation at his hideout in the Tarkwa Huni Valley area in the Western Region.

A statement by the police reported that the suspect fled Zebilla shortly after the incident.

“The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting investigations, and will be put before court to face the full rigours of the law while efforts have been intensified to arrest other suspects involved,” it assured.
