You’ve Served Ghana, It’s Now Time to Serve Asanteman – Otumfuo to Juansahene

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has stated that the time is due for Nana Kwaku Dankwa Opamago Kodie II, Juansahene, to dedicate his service to Asanteman.

At the Asanteman Council meeting on January 19, 2026, Otumfuo acknowledged his service to Ghana in various capacities, including his most recent appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas, while chronicling his childhood and growth through the ages.

Counselling him prior to permitting his oath of allegiance before the Asanteman Council at its first meeting of the year at the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo noted that chieftaincy transcended his engineering profession and mastery.

“Where you’ve come transcends engineering… You have served Ghana and it’s now time to serve Asanteman.”

The Asantehene challenged him to direct his expertise and strength towards developing Asanteman.

“You are here to contribute to Asanteman’s wellbeing.”

Otumfuo, in further remarks, acknowledged the developmental projects he spearheaded in Juansa way before he developed an interest in the stool.

His goodwill, His Majesty noted, had merited his selection by the Stool.

Testifying to his humility, Otumfuo expressed confidence in him and committed him into the hands of the kingmakers to teach him all traditions and customs he needed to know.
