Your Gifts Can’t Influence My Verdict- Otumfuo to Nananom With Pending Cases

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has emphasised that his objectivity cannot be swayed by gifts from Nananom.
His Majesty said this while noting that he will always stand by the truth.
“And if you brought gifts to me during the festive season, yes, I accepted them, but don’t think that will influence my decision in your favour. We stand by nothing but the truth.”
This was part of remarks delivered at the first sitting of the Asanteman Council at the Manhyia Palace on January 19, 2026.
In addition, Otumfuo urged Nananom resist all forms of extortion.
“Anyone who promises to help expedite the resolution of your case or get you a favourable verdict is a liar. Don’t fall for that.”
The Asantehene said this while assuring Nananom of the needed attention to their cases.
