Young Apostles, Basake, Vision FC Make Historic Qualification to Premier League
Three lower-tier clubs have been promoted to the Ghana Premier League (GPL) following their victorious spell in the 2023/2024 football season.
Young Apostles FC, Basake Holy Stars and Vision FC will all make historic debuts in the league next season.
“The Ghana Football Association has confirmed three newly promoted sides for the 2024-25 Ghana Premier League,” The Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed in a statement.
Young Apostles qualified from Zone One after finishing first in Zone One A and winning their playoff game against Techiman Heroes at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In Zone Two, Basake Holy Stars qualified ahead of New Edubiase United, Mysterious Dwarfs and PAC Academy who were competitors in the Zone.
Vision FC qualified for next season’s league having finished first in Zone Three.
Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano who only got promoted last season, Real Tamale United (RTU) and one other yet to be confirmed would get relegated after this weekend’s final premier league matches.
Last season, Heart of Lions, Bofoakwa Tano and Nations FC got promoted to the league.
The next season is expected to start on Friday, September 6, 2024.
