You Aren’t a True Christian or Muslim if You Are Unforgiving- Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has stated that a true follower of Christ and Mohammed exudes compassion, forgiveness, and moral responsibility.
According to him, unforgiveness and wickedness are not signs of true Christians or Muslims.
“If you say you are a true Muslim or a true Christian, and you are hard of heart, unforgiving, wicked, or you kill your fellow human being, then you cannot call yourself a true Muslim or a true Christian,” he said on March 16, 2026, when he joined the Muslim Community for Iftar.
He reminded Muslims who are observing Ramadan that the importance of renewal and moral responsibility in our national life,” the President stated.
He emphasised that genuine faith must be reflected in one’s conduct toward others.
The President also acknowledged the role of religious leadership in sustaining peace and unity in Ghana.
“I wish to acknowledge the leadership of the National Chief Imam and the Islamic clergy whose wisdom and guidance continue to strengthen peace and unity in our nation.”
President Mahama further described Ramadan as a period that inspires generosity, compassion, and solidarity among communities.
