Yet-to-Report Deployed Doctors Given One-Week Ultimatum
The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has given deployed medical doctors a one-week ultimatum to report to their designated facilities.
Addressing the media at a press conference on December 2, 2025, he said 451 medical personnel had been deployed across the 16 regions.
He said only 158 had reported to the post as of November 28, 2025.
Per data he conveyed, of 21 posted to Ahafo Region eight have reported; 33 posted to the Ashanti Region, 25 have reported; 29 posted to Bono Region, 11 have reported; 27 posted to Bono East Region, 9 have reported; 34 posted to Central Region, 20 have reported; 34 posted to Eastern Region, 23 have reported; 32 posted to Upper West Region, none have reported; and 37 posted to Volta region, 15 have reported.
He furthered that with 20 posted to the Greater Accra Region, 16 have reported; 32 poisted to Northern Region, 7 have reported; 19 posted to North East, none have reported; 21 posted to Oti, 1 has reported; 19 posted to Savannah Region, 7 have reported; 35 posted to Upper East Region, none have reported; 37 posted to Western Region, 14 have reported; and 21 posted to Western North Region, 2 have reported.
“We will give them an additional one week to appeal to them to report to their various facilities where they have been posted, after which we will do what we call validation.”
Noting that there will be no reposting, the Minister urged regional ministers, members of parliament, DCEs and chiefs to facilitate their settlement in the districts.
