World Cup Qualifiers: Ghana Face Chad in March after CAR Triumph
Ghana’s next game in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers will take place nine months later against Chad following their glorious sail against the Central Africa Republic (CAR) on Monday.
They beat the CAR by 4:3 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium through goals from Jordan Ayew and Fatawu Issahaku.
Jordan got Ghana onto the scoreline when he converted a penalty won by the Black Stars after Abdul Fatawu Issahaku was fouled in the box within six minutes. He further levelled for Ghana inside 60 minutes after CAR striker, Louis Mafouta, scored two goals to put his team ahead in the first half.
Fatawu Issahaku gave Ghana the third goal two minutes later with Jordan adding the fourth inside 69 minutes. Mafouta reduced the deficit at injury time after recording his third goal of the night; however, the harm had already been done.
Earlier on Thursday, the Black Stars faced Mali in Bamako where they defeated them by 2-1.
Coach Otto Addo’s side is leading Group I with nine points after four games. They are left with six more games with the next game slated for March 2025 against Chad and Madagascar.
They will face the two countries from March 17 to 25.
