Work on Suame Intercange Project Resumes Next Week- Amoakohene
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has announced the resumption of work on the Suame Interchange project.
In a Facebook post, he said the contractor will resume work next week.
This follows the payment of outstanding debt owed to the contractor dating back to 2024.
“Work on the Suame Interchange resumes next week. Contractor has been paid outstanding debt since 2024.”
The notice comes after artisans at Suame Magazine blocked sections of the Suame Road due to the delay in the ongoing construction project on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
They lamented over the health implications of the spate of air pollution caused by the dusty road.
The protesters expressed their grievances by blocking the road and burning tyres, disrupting traffic on the stretch.
It took the intervention of the police to restore order.
