WhatsApp Now Allows Instant Video Messages In Chat
Users can now take videos in 60 seconds directly in chats on WhatsApp, parent company Meta has announced.
The new feature which has begun rolling out is an addition to the voice recorder in chats and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks, the Company says.
“Voice messages on WhatsApp changed the way people communicate by providing a quick and secure way to share your voice. We’re excited to build on this feature with new instant video messages. Now you can record and share short personal videos directly in the chat,” Meta announced on Thursday.
To use the feature tap on the audio recording icon to switch to video mode, and hold to record the video, alternatively, one can swipe up to lock and record the video hands-free.
“Videos will play automatically on mute when opened in a chat, and tapping on the video will start the sound,” it said.
Meanwhile, Meta says the video messages will be protected with end-to-end encryption to keep them secure.
