We’ve Laid Invisible Foundations for Sustainable Development- Mahama

President John Draani Mahama says his government has laid out invisible foundations in terms of measures to accelerate and sustain the development of the country.

According to him, this forms part of the reforms undertaken in the past year.

Addressing the nation at a non-denominational Thanksgiving Service at the Jubilee House to mark his first year in office on January 7, 2026, President Mahama said difficult decisions had been taken.

“We have undertaken difficult reforms. We’ve laid foundations that may not yet be visible but are sustainable for the sustainable progress of our country.”

Chronicling measures taken, he said the government has prioritised economic stabilisation, institutional reforms, social protection and the restoration of confidence both within the country and in the international community.

He acknowledged that more needed to be done in the years ahead to consolidate the gains.

“The work we have begun is far from finished, but today reminds us that progress is not measured only by numbers and by cheats and diagrams. It is also measured by hope that is restored, trust that is rebuilt and correct direction that is regained.”
