We’re Delivering the Results But You Aren’t Showing Up; Ogum to Kotoko Fans
The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, has expressed disappointment at the dwindling number of fans they garner at their home games.
In a post-match press conference on Sunday where a handful of fans showed up, he wondered why the stadium is not filled now that they have been registering back-to-back victories in the games.
“For me, I cannot tell the reasons why they (Kotoko fans) are not coming. Kotoko is a big club with over 10 million supporters…. We are playing some good football and getting them the results, but they are not coming.”
He therefore appealed to their fans to show up.
“I’m also appealing to them; they should try on match days to come in their numbers and support us. I think it’s unpleasant; it doesn’t make us happy.”
Ogum has times without number stated that fans are their 12 player and as important as those on the pitch.
He believes their role influences the on-pitch results.
Asante Kotoko have won six of their last seven matches and sit atop the league log with 34 points, a point away from second-placed Bibiani Goldstars.
This is an impressive showpiece as the Porcupines faced struggles at the beginning of the season.
