We’re Delighted To Witness the History Otumfuo is Making – Rwanda Envoy
The Rwandan High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Rosemary Mbabazi has expressed her honour to witness the history Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is writing with his leadership over Asanteman and Ghana at large with a golden ink.
The High Commissioner’s conspicuous admiration for the King came to bare when she paid a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace on Friday, April 19, 2024, in the company of Theophile Rurangwa, the Second Counselor at the Rwanda High Commission in Ghana.
She has been in Ghana for six months now and had the privilege of meeting His Majesty for the first time.
“We are so delighted to be here…I have been in Accra for the last six months. I joined the High Commission in October last year and one of the Agenda was to visit Kumasi and a visit to His Majesty,” she said in her remarks.
She used the occasion to commend the King for his unprecedented and exemplary leadership over the past 25 years.
She also expressed her pride in the opportunity to witness the glorious history Otumfuo has been making on the Golden Stool.
“The purpose of our visit was to pay a courtesy call and thank you for the good work in your community. We have heard a lot and we’ve learnt the history when we were so young and we are so happy to be here to witness the history you are making.
“You are doing an amazing job, we have heard about it. We also congratulate you on the 25th anniversary. We are so happy to be here to build the bridges between Rwanda and Ghana.”
His Majesty, in response made his first public statement about his leadership, which he said has been driven by vision.
“25 years leading my people to help develop them and Ghana has been 25 years of integrity, honesty and fashioning ideas that carry them all together. I have survived the 25 years with their (traditional authorities in his Kingdom) love and affection and integrity and support. We will continue to do it. Leadership is all about having the vision and carrying the people along to achieve it. That is what I have done for Ghana all these years.”
