We’ll Help Ghana Sail Through Economic Challenges- Singapore Prez

President Tharman Shanmugaratnam has put Singapore’s various state and private institutions at the disposal of Ghana as the African country navigates through economic challenges.
Acknowledging the economic downturn inherited by President John Dramani Mahama during an interaction at his presidential villa, he commended the bold steps that have strengthened the economy.
“I know you inherited very difficult challenges, but you are off to a very strong start in repairing the situation, and we in Singapore, in whatever way we can, through our government agencies and companies, will do what is useful to support you.”
In his remarks, he highlighted Ghana as a key player not just in West Africa but in Africa at large.
Expressing his appreciation for the invitation to visit, President Mahama described the Asian country as Ghana’s role model.
“We have had historical ties from the period of our first president, and we view Singapore as a role model in our journey to create prosperity for our people.”
