We Will Demand For More Road Projects To Be Constructed- Asakyihene
Nana Mensah Bonsu, Otumfuo Asakyihene has stated that the Ashanti Region will continue to demand more for road projects to be constructed as road contraction are important to national development.
Asakyihene who represented the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll, made this call on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Nsenie in the Oforikrom Municipality when Vice President Dr. Mahama was commissioning 100km phase 1 of the completed Kumasi inner ring roads and adjacent streets project.
According to Nana Mensah Bonsu, Ashanti Region deserve the best as the Region remains the bedrock of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In addition, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah indicated that the Government has done its best in terms of development notwithstanding achieving the level Ashanti Region deserves.
Hon. Simon Osei Mensah pleaded with the good people of the Ashanti Region to exercise patience as the government has a key interest to develop the Region.
On his part, Vice President Bawumia stated that since 2017, Government has built a 295km asphalt overlay through the department of Urban Roads under the Roads and Highways apart from the 100km Kumasi inner ring roads and adjacent streets project.
He said, Ejisu Municipality, Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Sekyere East District, Subin, Nhyiaeso, Bantama, Asokwa Municipality, Oforikrom Municipality, Suame Municipality, Old Tafo Municipality, Asante -Mampong, Obuasi Municipality, Bekwai Municipality, and Atwima Nwabiagya District, all have been the beneficiaries of the 295km asphalt overlay.
