We Seek Your Prayers For Our Angola Game; Jordan after Donation
The captain of the Black Stars, Jordan Ayew has urged students and management of the Dzorwulu Special School in Accra to push the team with fervent prayers following a donation to the school.
Jordan visited the school on November 13 alongside other teammates like Kingsley Schindler, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Gideon Mensah, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer, Razak Simpson and some leadership members of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
This was ahead of their departure for Luanda, Angola for their crucial game against the Palancas Negras in their match day five game of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The team donated food items, water and an undisclosed amount of money.
In his address to the school, the leader of the playing body said the team was in dire need of prayers for their qualification.
“We seek your prayers and support going into our crucial game against Angola on Friday.”
The Leicester City forward added that this was part of their way of giving back to the society.
“On behalf of the Ghana Football Association, the Black Stars Technical team and my colleagues, we came here to spend time with you (inmates) and to offer our little support to you as part of our contribution to your growth,’ he said according to media of the GFA.
“For us, we believe that lending a hand of support is divine and a virtue that we all need to develop to help the underprivileged in society. We have been making a lot of donations and visitations before games but today, we thought it wise to come over here and support you”.
Ghana have not won in any of the last four qualifiers played. They suffered a 1-0 home defeat in their first game; a 1-1 home draw against Niger; a 0-0 draw against Sudan; and a 2-0 loss to Sudan.
Addo’s side is currently on the verge of not qualifying for the AFCON for the first time in 20 years but the coach says he is bent on preying on the little chance left to salvage the situation.
They hold two points from the four games.
