We Pay Allegiance To Asantehene, Not Odike – KYA Responds To Odike’s Youth Incitement Claim
The Kumasi Youth Association (KYA) has responded to the claims of the United Progressive Party’s Founder and Leader, Akwasi Addae Odike on his intent to incite the youth against Manhyia Palace.
Speaking to Opemsuo Radio on the Nkwantananso show with Agudey, a member of the Association, Nana Wiafe said, the youth of Kumasi and Ashanti as a whole pay their allegiance to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II but not Odike in any way.
According to him, Odike has no authority to command the youth of Asante under his control to the extent of inciting them to stand against Manhyia Palace or Asante Traditional Council or more precisely the Asantehene.
He reiterated that Odike should access his commanding power over the youth to his position during the elections and realize the numbers of youth that follow him. In this case “his youths as he claims are his wife and children”.
In reaction to Odike’s alleged attack claim, Nana Wiafe stated he sees no truth in the matter because as a single room office Odike could have been easily spotted and killed as he narrates the story. He stated that he believes this is a fabricated story to advertently tarnish the image of Manhyia Palace.
