We Now Deliver Passports in 15 Days – Ablakwa

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, says ordinary passport applications now take a maximum of 15 days to be processed and delivered.

According to him, expedited applications take seven days.

However, he noted that processing may stall if the application is flagged.

“When there is a documentation you are lacking and some credibility challenges when we are not sure you are a Ghanaian or your information is not adding up, and there is a gap, then your application will be put on hold.”

He also announced the activation of an E-tracking system to offer applicants real-time updates on the status of their application.

“Our E-tracking system has been fully operationalised, and so you are able to know the state of your application. Has it been approved? Has it been printed? Has it been delivered to the courier company? Is it in transit? Is it close to you?”
