We Erred, Forgive Us- Bawumia

Former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has rendered an unqualified apology to members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Ghanaians following unsatisfying governance.
Addressing a group of supporters as part of the NPP’s Thank You tour, he referenced the investigative report of the Oquaye Committee on the cause of the defeat of the party in the 2024 general elections.
According to him, the findings suggested that Ghanaians were unhappy with some policies and actions of the government.
“We wanted to know why we got so low a vote, so we established the Oquaye Committee…In summary, Ghanaians were angry. We worked but we erred as well which got people angry.”
In his address, he acknowledged his government’s faults and apologized.
“On behalf of myself and the party, to admit that we erred. Forgive us,” the 2024 Presidential candidate of the party said.
He pledged to make up for their mistakes in their next administration.
“We will do better to appease you when we regain power.”
Dr Bawumia alongside the National Executive of the NPP have begun a Thank You tout across the 16 regions of the country to express their appreciation to the electorates for their support during the election.
They also seek to use this opportunity to reforge unity among its members for a formidable front for the next election.
