We Didn’t Offer a Penny Towards 2026 Women of Valour Event in UK- GoldBod

The Ghana Gold Board, through its subsidiary GoldBod Jewellery Limited, has clarified its partnership with the Women of Valour event held over the weekend in the United Kingdom (UK).

In a statement, it stated that no funds were contributed towards the organisation of the event.

It noted that GoldBod Jewellery Limited was listed as one of the partners of this year’s Women of Valour event because the company offered discounts on jewellery purchases to participants of the programme.

This, it said, was part of our ongoing Ghana Heritage Month promotions, similar to the Valentine’s Day discounts offered earlier.

It emphasised that the company’s focus is steadfastly on manufacturing and retailing timeless pieces of made-in-Ghana jewellery for valued customers in Ghana and abroad.

The clarity comes after a section of the public, particularly the foot soldiers of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed dissatisfaction with Goldbod’s association with media personality Nana Aba Anamoah, the brain behind the annual event, due to some comments she spewed about the party and its leadership in times past.

The group felt betrayed by the action of the Goldbod.

About Women of Valour
Women of Valour is the creation of multiple award-winning broadcast journalist, Nana Aba Anamoah.

Simply known as WoV, it is aimed at recognising and highlighting women with unique stories of courage as the world marks the annual International Women’s Day in March.

Every 7th of March, a day before the International Day for Women, we assemble incredible women from different backgrounds, orientations, and cultures whose stories reflect and connect with the reality of most women and girls. Most importantly, their stories inspire us to persevere and confront our worst fears.
